Kavre girl kills self
Kavre: A girl of Kavre district who appeared in this year’s SLC exam committed suicide after failing the test on Tuesday. Sani Bista of Sanga-6, who appeared
in the test from Himalayan Secondary School consumed poison after she did not find her number on the list of successful students, police said. Meanwhile,
Dipa Karki who tried to commit suicide after failing the test was rushed to Scheer Memorial Hospital in Banepa. Karki, who appeared in the test from Ganesh
Bharati Secondary School is said to be in critical condition.
270 PLA fighters through
NAWALPARASI: A total of 270 PLA combatants from the fourth division and other Maoist camps in Nawalparasi district managed to pass the test. The combatants
had appeared in the test from Janata Higher Secondary School at Arunkhola. Altogether 380 combatants sat for this year’s test. Kedar Parajuli, 55, and
Sabitri Giri, 42, who were older than others appearing in the exam passed the test with second division and third division respectively. Meanwhile, a
lawmaker from the UCPN (Maoist), Renuka Chaulagain, who appeared in the SLC test from Saraswati Secondary School at Gothapani in Kavre district passed the exam.
4 visually-impaired shine
PALPA: Four visually impaired students in Palpa district passed this year’s School Leaving Certificate examination. Samjhana Thapa, Hariher Prasad Pandey,
Ram Prasad Poudel and Pratima Gyawali who appeared in the test from Damakada Higher Secondary School at Madanpokhara secured the first division. Meanwhile,
of the 4,890 students appearing in the test in the regular category, 1,971 passed the exam. Of the 1,072 students in the exempted category, 79 passed the exam.
Cent percent result
KAVRE: A government school in Kavre has become a model school by securing cent percent pass results in the SLC from the time the school’s students started
appearing in the test. Swasthani Secondary School in Madankundari VDC-2, which started sending its students for the test three years ago, saw all the 22 students coming out with flying colours this year too.
