Student workshop on global themes
Kathmandu : British Council Global School Partnership (GSP) is all set to organise a student workshop on the global themes of ‘Sustainable Development’ and ‘Peace and Conflict Resolution’ in the Capital on August 31.
In a press statement issued today, the British Council said the workshop aimed to impart knowledge to students on sustainable development in the world and give them practical examples of sustainable projects.
It also aims to help students learn the process of reusing waste materials produced within the school to make briquette and the process of using them as fuel for cooking as well as understand the importance of conflict resolution, said the statement.
The statement further said approximately 70 students from 26 GSP schools from Kathmandu, Pokhara, Biratnagar and Butwal would be participating in the workshop.
The workshop will also include demonstrations on briquette making from recycled waste by Sanu Kaji Shrestha, chairman, Foundation of Sustainable Technologies and British Council International Climate Champion Kriti Shrestha and a forum theatre on conflict resolution by climate champion Babu Ram Regmi, read the statement.
According to the statement, the GSP aims to motivate young people’s commitment to a fairer and more sustainable world through partnership between the UK schools and schools in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
