Students agitate
Kathmandu: National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) students struggle committee on Thursday announced a five-day-long protest demanding that the government not infringe upon their right to education. Prakash Jaug Pant, coordinator of the struggle committee, said that Tribhuvan University-affiliated colleges are denying admission to students with NIOS certificate. He said the NIOS certificate has been recognised in Nepal since 2004. But defying the government decision, the college is not admitting them.
