Students compelled to go India for higher studies in Siraha
Lahan:Absence of secondary level school in Inarwa-8 of Siraha district has compelled students here to go across the border for further studies.
Children of Biswaspatti village, adjoining the Nepal-India border have no choice than to go to India after completing Grade 8 in the school in their village.
The lower secondary school founded in 1951 in the village has not been upgraded as of yet thereby forcing some 150 students to cross the border for higher studies, says local Satya Narayan Shah.
The higher secondary school in Inarwa is four kilometers away from Biswaspatti while a school across the border is just half a kilometer away. As a result, students prefer to go to India instead, Shah said.
"Our students are facing a problem due to the ignorance of the political party representatives and local residents towards our repeated request to upgrade the school", said head teacher at the school Ram Chandra Shah.
