Students devoid of scholarship‚ textbooks
Rautahat: Students acquiring education in most of the schools in Rautahat district have not received textbooks and scholarship even after it has been nine months since the onset of educational year.
Though the Nepal government has been releasing amount for the textbooks and scholarship under the school improvement programme, the school administration is found to have siphoned off the funds, said stakeholders.
In a public hearing conducted by Society of Educational Journalists, Rautahat, students voiced their concern that they have been denied of their rights to get textbooks and scholarship.
We are not getting books to this date when SLC examination is coming near, students complained.
It is noted that the District Education Office has released the fund worth Rs 22.68 million for 103,630 students of the district for the fiscal year 2010-11. However, most of the schools have not handed over the textbooks to their students.
