Students of boarding school attracted towards community school
BIRGUNJ: Students of Boarding schools at Birgunj have been attracted towards a community school after it started teaching in English medium.
The Maisthan Bidyapith Secondary School, Birgunj, has started teaching at class 8 and 9 in English medium from this academic session.
Students of private schools are attracted towards community schools as there was high possibility of getting different opportunities to those, who passed SLC examination from community schools, including scholarship in course of their higher education.
Principal of the Maisthan Bidhyapith Secondary School, Binod Mehata, said that students of private schools have been admitted to the school after it started English medium classes from this academic session.
He said that Students from Parsa as well as Bara and Rautahat districts come to read at the school.
Mehata said that they have started English medium classes to stop the increasing trend of attending SLC examination from community schools after reading at private schools.
District Education Officer Hari Basnet said that as per the government´s policy, a community school can teach in both Nepali and English medium.
