Students unions call for halting arbitrary fees in schools
Various student organizations have urged the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) to adopt strict measures to stop the monopoly of the higher secondary schools in the admission and the scholarship fees.
The student unions have expressed objection over the private higher secondary schools charging fees in arbitrary manner when the Central Fees Fixation Committee at the Department of Education is yet to complete its task.
Student leaders in the discussion with the talks committee constituted by the HSEB on Wednesday warned that they would padlock the account section of the higher secondary schools if the practice of taking fees arbitrarily was not stopped forthwith.
