The British College Graduation Ceremony 2023
On 22nd September, The British College held the Graduation Ceremony 2023 at The Hyatt Regency Hotel, to celebrate the conferment of awards for Leeds Beckett University (LBU) and The University of the West of England (UWE).
This year the College welcomed a total of 407 graduates and their families, and hosted two ceremonies with Business students graduating in the morning from BBA, MBA, BHM, MIBM, and EMBA; and IT students graduating in the afternoon from BSc (Hons) Computing and MSc IT. Distinguished guests from Nepal and the UK attended both sessions and Student Excellence awards were presented by long-standing MBE TBC Advisor and Vice President of British Education Group, Mr Paul Cleves.
Mahendra Kandel, Executive Director of The British College, began the ceremony by lighting the Panas and Rajen Kandel, CEO and Founder of the College, then opened the event with a welcome speech. When asked about the event he said, “It is a testament to how much ,we have grown that we now have to have two ceremonies and I would like to congratulate every one of the graduates here today who have now become members of the TBC alumni. We can’t wait to see what they go on to do next.”
Special guests then delivered inspiring speeches, including Ms Heidi Tavakoli, Deputy Head of the Mission-British Embassy, Advisors to the College, Mr Michael Rutland OBE, Prof Fergus Lyon, and the Honourable John Edward Hollister Montagu, 11th Earl of Sandwich, who sent a video message from the UK.
Representatives from the partner British universities also spoke at the event, including Prof Akintola Akintoye, Dean of the School of Built Environment and Engineering at Leeds Beckett University and Dr Paul Bennett, Dean of Partnerships and International and Interim Head of Business and Management at UWE.
Prof Akintola Akintoye, Dean of the School of Built Environment and Engineering at Leeds Beckett University said, "This is a great day of international collaboration between Leeds Beckett and The British College and we are committed to continuing to strengthen these ties as we produce more and more graduates around the world".
Dr Paul Bennett, Dean of Partnerships and International and Interim Head of Business and Management at UWE encouraged the student body to thank their families as he spoke of the long standing partnership between UWE and TBC and welcomed the graduates as members of their alumni community.
The ceremony was a symbol of academic excellence, international collaboration, and the bright future that awaits The British College's Class of 2023 graduates. The College remains committed to nurturing talent and producing global leaders.
