The British College Launches Innovative BSc (Hons) Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) Program
The British College (TBC) officially launched its brand new BSc (Hons) Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) programme on January 19, 2024, in collaboration with the University of the West of England (UWE) in the United Kingdom.
To celebrate the opening of admissions for this new programme, which has been accredited by both the Engineering Council and the British Computer Society in the UK, the launch took place at the Yak and Yeti Hotel. Held in association with FinTech Alliance Nepal, the event welcomed industry professionals and distinguished guests, including the British Ambassador to Nepal.
The evening began with a captivating opening address delivered by GunakarBhatta, the Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank, who set the stage for the panel discussion on the world of digital wallets - featuring industry experts from leading digital wallet platforms - Esewa, Khalti, and Imepay.
The President of Fintech Alliance, SanjibSubba, then talked about the importance of Artificial Intelligence for the future of digital wallets and thanked TBC for offering internationally recognised UK programmes that are transforming the field of IT in Nepal.
The Chief Guest, the British Ambassador to Nepal, H.E. Rob Fenn, then delivered the Key Note Speech and remarked, "I am delighted to witness the launch of this pioneering programme. It reinforces the strong ties between the UK and Nepal and the collaboration between TBC and UWE reflects our commitment to fostering education and innovation."
Then to close the event, The Deputy Principal, Dr Patrick McCrudden spoke and said, "As a College, we have always focused on shaping new talents for a better future. So, as industries across the globe embrace AI platforms, this programme will address the pressing need for skilled professionals and prepare students to lead the charge in the fourth industrial revolution."
