The Westminster College clinches British Education Group Futsal Championships across all three categories
Kathmandu. The Westminster College, Kupondole emerged victorious in the ‘British Education Group Futsal Tournament’ securing titles across all three categories of the competition.
Twelve teams, consisting of male and female students as well as staff from The British College, The Westminster College, British Model College, and British Professional College, all part of the British Education Group, competed in the event. Westminster College emerged victorious in every category, clinching the title.
Following the single round-robin format, the top two teams from each category battled for the championship. In the boys' category, Westminster's student team secured victory over British Professional College in a penalty shootout. Likewise, Westminster's girls’ team claimed the title by defeating the British Model team in a penalty shootout. In the staff final, Westminster's staff emerged triumphant with a 1-0 victory over the staff of the British College.
Following their victory, all three Westminster teams were presented with trophies, medals, and cash prizes. The awards were distributed in the presence of representatives from each of the colleges.
Mr Arun Kumar Kandel, Head of Schools at the British Education Group, commented after the event, stating, “This competition was arranged recognising the importance of both physical and mental well-being. Moreover, it provided an opportunity for students and employees from various locations within the British Education Group to come together. I want to congratulate and thank all the winning teams and participants of the competition.”
Likewise, Mr Arun Lal Joshi, the head of Westminster College, celebrating the victory in all three categories, conveyed his joy by stating, "Being the newest institution within our network, we're thrilled to showcase our outstanding success across all tournament divisions. This achievement reflects the commitment and effort of our team members and volunteers, and I extend my heartfelt congratulations to them."
