UK introduces online application system
Kathmandu: The British Embassy in Nepal today introduced online applications and appointments for visa applications under the points-based system.
In a press release, the embassy said the customers and their dependants who were making a UK visa application under the points-based system would need to make their application and appointment at the visa application centre online.
It said from today the UK Border Agency was no longer going to accept manually completed applications under the points-based system.
It further said online applications and appointments would be mandated for applications under Tier 1, 2, 4 and 5 of the points-based system.
According to the statement, visa application online would save customers time and the information about the application would be recorded.
Tier 1 system is for migrants with desirable professional skills, Tier 2 is for skilled workers with an offer of employment, Tier 4 is for students and Tier 5 is for youth mobility schemes or temporary workers.
