US Full scholarship for undergrads from University of Cincinnati,USA
The University of Cincinnati (UC) today offered full and half scholarships to students from Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and other countries in undergraduate programmes.
Organising a press meet at the Universal Language Institute, Jonathan Weller, director of International Admission at the US university, announced expanded scholarship opportunities for Nepali students.
He said the scholarships included a number of full scholarships valued at $100,000 and half scholarships at $50,000 to qualifying students starting from August 2010 in the UC.
“Last year, we offered over $1 million in undergraduate scholarships to South Asian students and we intend to offer more this year, particularly in Nepal,” Weller said.
He further stated that a number of UC’s top ranked programmes have committed financial support for more South Asian students in various subjects such as Computer Science and Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Business Programmes (Economics, Information Systems), Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics, Fashion Design and Urban Planning.
He informed that the deadline for scholarship application submission was December 1, 2011. “If the funds are available, scholarship decisions will still be made until February, 2012,” Weller added.
According to Weller, of over 43,000 students enrolled in UC, 2,600 are international students from 100 countries, with the highest number of students from India and China. Currently, 15 Nepali students are doing graduate courses in the varsity.
