BE entrance examination postponed due to scuffle
Bhaktapur: The entrance examinations of Bachelor’s of Engineering (BE) scheduled for Thursday has been put off for an indefinite period due to dispute at Changu Engineering College in Changunarayan VDC.
A scuffle ensued when the college administration, locals and examinee opted for removing padlock in the college saying entrance examinations should not be stopped in any pretexts, said college sources.
The Campus unit of UCPN (Maoist)’s student wing ANNISU-R had padlocked the college on Wednesday putting forward some demands.
BE entrance examination has been postponed for indefinite period after the college administration issued notice after tense situation emerged at the college, the college added.
Likewise, independent employees unions at the college on Thursday also locked out college administration in protest of the postponement of examinations for the failure to settle trivial issues.
Security alert has been increased in the college after the incident took a nasty turn, according to Metropolitan City Police Circle, Thimi.
