Education Minister vows to amend HSE policy
Kathmandu : Minister for Education, Gangalal Tuladhar has said the government is committed to amend the Higher Secondary Education(HSE) policy and thereby improve the quality of education in the country.
Taking part in a programme entitled "National Debate on Federal Education'' held in course of the ongoing National Educational Conference organized by the All Nepal National Students here on Tuesday, Minister Tuladhar said the recent appointments of office bearers at several universities made by the government has filled the vacuum existing for a long time in the sector.
Presenting a working paper at the programme, former president of ANNFSU and former minister Shankar Pokharel stressed on the need to hold extensive discussions on the education policy before going to federalism.
Vice-president of ANNFSU, Nabina Lama said only pro-people education policy will be able to bring drastic changes in the country's education system.
Former president of ANNFSU, Ram Kumari Jhankri, Principal of Modern Kanya Campus, Ram Prasad Dahal and Dr Krishna Bhattachan were among those expressing their opinions at the programme chaired by ANNFSU President Madhav Dhungel.
