Guardians shut down school
Sarlahi: Guardians have locked the Shree Janata Secondary School at Pattharkot VDC in Sarlahi district for an indefinite period citing that the school appointed teachers through relief quota and PCF quota arbitrarily; and also alluding to lack of transparency in the school's account, among others.
According to guardian Lal Singh Lama, they padlocked the school after the school did not provide scholarship amount to students from the indigenous communities since 2064 B.S; did not show the expenditure amount while constructing school's building and did not advertise for the post of teachers and the office-bearers in the school management committee appointed their relatives as teachers.
Lama said they were compelled to padlock the school after their request to Chairperson of the School Management Committee Ram Chandra Mahato many times to form an investigation committee and make the account public went in vain.
They have lodged a complaint at the District Police Office and the Area Police Office, Hariwan against Mahato saying he misused the amount of the school, Lama further said.
Investigation into the case is underway, said Police-Inspector at Area Police Office, Hariwan, Krishna Prasad Sharma.
