HSEB offers staff voluntary retirement scheme
The Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) is all set to offer a voluntary retirement scheme to staff for the first time since its establishment in 1989. An HSEB board meeting chaired by Education Minister Dina Nath Sharma on Friday took the decision to offer a voluntary retirement scheme to staff that have completed 15 years of service at the Board. Interested staff will be offered an additional salary for a maximum of four years. “The voluntary retirement scheme was introduced as per the demands of staff,” said Bhim Lal Gurung, member secretary of the Board. HSEB is scheduled to issue an official notice for the retirement scheme on Sunday. Around 100 staff currently serving at the Board will benefit from the scheme. Those who have only a few years remaining for compulsory retirement due to age and service factors are expected to avail of the scheme. The Board has established a Voluntary Retirement Fund worth Rs 200 million. The HSEB is expected to hire new staff through an open competition after bidding farewell to its old staff.
