Nepali team to take part in education forum in China
A three-member Nepali delegation under former prime minister Kirtinidhi Bista is leaving for Chengdu City, Sichuan Province of China, on October 24 to attend the 2013 Education Forum for Asia.
The two-day annual conference will conclude on October 26.Delegates to the conference include Professor Mohan P Lohani and Professor Shyam Kant Silwal.
Bista is one of the founding members of EFA, which was launched in 2003 to address education-related issues of Asia, to coordinate educational policies and programmes of the region, to promote human resource development and to emphasise education in all its aspects and its relevance to all facets of national development.
The theme for this year’s EFA is “Green Education and Sustainable Development”.
Altogether 500 delegates from Asia and other parts of the world, including forum initiators, former presidents, former prime ministers, educational experts, government officials, political leaders, heads of international organisations like UNESCO and members of the business community, are taking part in the conference.
Bista is scheduled to address the plenary meeting of the conference on October 25.
