SLC exam: fake examinee held; one delivers baby
Kathmandu: In a bid to make this year's School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination-- which kicked off from today-- decent and disciplined across the country, one person has been arrested for sitting SLC exam on behalf of another student.
One Jhalak Bahadur Karki has been held from centre at Sagarmatha Gyankunja School in Kohalpur of Banke on Tuesday morning.
Karki had appeared for the Compulsory English examination under the name of the Pradip Budha.
Karki will face action as per Education Act, police said.
According to Section 17 of Education Act 1971, provisions of up to six-month jail or fine up to Rs 100,000 or both can be slapped for any attempt to leak the question paper, entry inside the exam centre without permission of concerned officials, and attempts to make the exam unsuccessful.
Meanwhile, one SLC examinee has given birth to a child while appearing for SLC exam in Rukum.
Radha Gharti delivered a son at the Taksera examination centre.
However, Gharti has been given additional one hour to write her paper, sources at the Taksera centre confirmed.
