Teacher alleged fails students over political belief
Surkhet: A teacher in Surkhet district allegedly failed a student for harboring different political ideology than his own, a student at the recieving end said at the district education office.
Bishnu Rawal, a 12th grader in Bhanubhakta Higher Secondary School, arrived at the district headquarters seeking justice and registered a complaint at the district education office.
According to Rawal, his school principal Mohan Khadka, allegedly a Maoist supporter, had threatened he would rusticate any students involved with Nepal Student Union.
"During a minor altercation with the teacher before the start of the exam, he had warned of failing me even by doctoring my marks," said Rawal who is knocking on the door of the Regional Education Directorate.
Rawal had passed in all the subject in 12th grade however, his mark sheets shows that he was absent in the practical exam for population and sociology subjects.
The student claimed Khadka, wittingly, sent the practical marks of the two subject to the central board after omitting Rawal´s numbers with the correction fluid, which caused Rawal to fail the exam.
The Regional Office of the Higher Secondary Education Board at Banke confirmed the student´s claim.
"He used to warned us that he would ruin our future for holding different ideology. Now in my case, he has carried out his threats," read an appeal submitted at the district education office.
Khadka however, could not be reached for the comment.
