Teachers compelled to share salary with others
Taplejung: Teachers of a primary school at Sallakhu VDC-3 in Taplejung district have to share their salary with each other due to the paucity of funds for meeting their salary.
Teachers of Shree Radhika primary school have been facing this problem. The school has only one relief quota allotted to it and the teacher appointed on this quota is compelled to share the salary with three others appointed on private salary basis.
According to Principal Pancha Kumar Limbu, the school management committee made decision to share the salary among the four teachers after the school could not manage the salary for teachers appointed through private source.
It is said the fund made available to the school by the District Education Office is not sufficient to pay the teachers and the money provided by the local VDC Office for this purpose is also diverted to development works, leading to the shortage of money.
The school was established in 2057 B. S.
