Teaching docs' protest on
Agitating doctors of TU Teaching Hospital on Thursday worked wearing black armbands. They also staged a sit-in protest on the hospital premises.
The doctors had announced protests on Wednesday demanding that the vacant positions be filled at the earliest. Key posts—dean, two assistant deans, campus chief and assistant campus chief—are lying vacant for the past four months.
Dr Dinesh Pokhrel, president of the Maharajgunj unit of TU Teachers’ Association, said the protest will continue till Friday. “If our demand is not fulfilled by then, we will boycott all the official instructions issued by the acting dean and campus chief and will also picket their offices,” said Dr Pokhrel.Their protest has been backed by Faculty Doctors Association of Teaching Hospital.
