Guardians' body-Pabson meet fails
A meeting between Private and Boarding Schools’ Association Nepal (Pabson) and National Guardian Association (GA) on Sunday ended inconclusively after both the sides stuck to their guns.
The meeting, called to sort out differences between the two bodies after GA announced protests against Pabson, came a ropper after the later refused to abide by the Private and Institutional Schools Directive 2012. Pabson, on March 10, had decided to backtrack from its own decision, saying that the directive was not friendlier to the private sector. Following the decision, GA, in a symbolic protest, had erected a black flag at Pabson’s office and handed over a protest banner to Pabson chief Baburam Pokhrel.
Suprabhat Bhandari, president of GA, said their protest programme has been postponed as Pabson sought three days to resolve the matter.
