MOEST seeks special help from local government in academic activities
Sept. 23: The government has introduced ‘emergency working plan on school education-2077’ for the effective implementation of ‘student learning facilitation directive-2077’.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MOEST) on Tuesday informed that the working plan was approved by the Cabinet on September 17 which seeks the special role of the federal and local governments for facilitating the alternative learning activities.
Speaking at a press conference organised by the ministry, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel said that the working plan sought the role of local and state governments to address the problems of those students who were shifted to new places from their earlier settlements, to provide textbooks to all children and to help the teachers reach their workplace.
The working plan includes learning contents, teaching methods and evaluation process required for the current academic year.
The ministry had earlier announced that this year’s academic session had began from September 17, delayed by five months than the previous years, and it has targeted to end the session as earlier by mid-April next year.
The concept of home schooling, establishment and operation of temporary learning facilitation centres, door to door campaign of teachers, facilitation for Early Child Development and Education, dissemination of audio visual contents are addressed in the working plan, Minister Pokharel said.
Now, the ministry has been working to avail free internet and voice call facilities for the teachers and students from Close User Group service, he said.
Minister Pokharel appealed to all stakeholders for their supportive role for the effective implementation of the working plan.
