Internship opportunities at American Embassy Kathmandu
The American Embassy in Kathmandu is pleased to announce internship opportunities for the local students at the U.S. Embassy, Kathmandu. The internship program is designed to provide interns with professional exposure and opportunities for knowledge and skills development by placing them with mentors in various technical and support offices. The duration of this program is 3 months and this internship program also incorporates flexibility into the schedule to allow students to maintain their class schedule. This is an unpaid program.
There are 5 intern positions available:
1. Human Resources Office Intern
Qualifications required:
> Completion of Higher Secondary School is required.
> English Language proficiency at least Level-III (Good Working Knowledge) is required.
> Basic computer skills such as MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint are required.
2. Information Resource Management Intern
Qualifications required:
> Completion of Higher Secondary school is required.
> English Language proficiency at least Level – IV (Fluent).
> Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products.
> Good understanding and some experience of web development preferred.
3. Public Affairs Section Intern
Qualifications required:
> Completion of Higher Secondary school is required.
> English Language proficiency at least Level-III (Good Working Knowledge) is required. Strong writing skills is required.
>Basic computer skills such as MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint are required.
4. Political & Economic Section (Pol/Econ) Intern
Qualifications required:
> Completion of Higher Secondary school is required.
> English Language proficiency at least Level-III (Good Working Knowledge) is required.
> Basic computer skills such as MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint are required.
> Basic knowledge of working with government offices will be an advantage.
5. Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM) Intern
Qualifications required:
> Completion of Higher Secondary School is required.
> Some experience working in Tibetan refugee communities or a Tibetan Refugee is preferred.
> English Language proficiency at least Level – III (Good Working Knowledge) is required. Fluent Tibetan and Nepali Language skills are required.
> Basic computer skills such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Windows operating system are required.
