JOB DESCRIPTION
INTERN (PROCUREMENT)

- ROLE PURPOSE:

We reached approximately two million populations and invested over 29 million US dollars in 2012 to reach more children than ever before, through programmes in Health, Nutrition, Education, Protection and Child Rights and Governance, Livelihood, HIV and AIDS, and humanitarian crises.
The purpose of this position is to provide assistance to procurement team of Kathmandu Office as assigned by the supervisor.
- SCOPE OF ROLE:
- Reports to: Sr. Procurement Coordinator
- Staff directly reporting to this post: NA
- Budget approval and decision making authority: NA
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
> Assist procurement team in procurements of goods and services required for the organization following the guiding principles “Best Value for Money. Transparency, Accountability, Equal and Fair competition and Proportionality”
> Provide support in procurement process by collecting quotations, analyzing and getting signatures from concern budget holders.
> Prepare documentation and filling for ongoing and closed procurement and keep in appropriate filling order both in hardcopy and electronic.
> Provide support to team in updating and developing qualified vendor list
> Prepare and update procurement tracker, enter data on tracker whenever the process executed.
> Prepare and provide information regarding status of procurement, quotation, purchase order, goods receive note and other relevant information.
> Provide support in systematic and up to dated procurement related filling
> Work in emergency as part of SCI dual mandate
> Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
> At least intermediate or 10+2 (Bachelor’s preferred) in any discipline preferably in Management;
