Background

This entails showcasing its leadership as an advocate and knowledge provider on gender equality, a provider of results-oriented, impactful interventions on the ground, and a skilled facilitator of normative and UN coordination processes.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision and guidance of Communication for Development (C4D) Officer and in close consultation with Programme Officers for a day-to-day operation, the selected intern is expected to work on/contribute to the below assignments:
> Assist in maintaining, updating and monitoring UN Women Nepal Country Office (NCO) official website and social media platforms (Facebook page and Twitter);
> Support in developing communication materials such as PowerPoint Presentations, infographics, fact sheets etc.
> Support in organizing press conferences and other events;
> Assistance in monitoring and maintaining press clippings of print and online media when UN Women is mentioned;
> Undertake general administrative assignments, including scheduling presentations for meetings / workshops, filing and scanning and photocopying.
Job Description:
Education:
> The intern must have studies in communication, journalism, international development studies, related social sciences or discipline at the university level.
> Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme or a recent graduate (commencement of internship within one-year period after graduation).
> Knowledge of designing software such as InDesign and Illustrator will be an asset.
Language:
> Excellent command of written and oral English and Nepali.
